What you will discover

Explore El Pardo Palace near Madrid through its royal history and tapestry collection, including designs associated with Goya.

El Pardo is a separate royal palace from the one in central Madrid, with a story linked to the surrounding landscape and the Spanish court. Its origins go back to Henry III’s residence of 1405, later transformed under Charles V.

Inside, tapestries provide a distinctive focus, with compositions by Goya and other artists woven at Madrid’s royal factory. The palace also serves as accommodation for visiting heads of state, so official use can affect whether it fits your travel dates.
