What you will discover
Meet the writers of Spain’s Golden Age on a private walk through Madrid’s Literary Quarter, with context for Cervantes, Lope de Vega and their city.
You do not need to have read the Spanish classics to enjoy the Barrio de las Letras. Its streets introduce the writers of the Golden Age through the places where they lived and the theatres and meeting points that shaped literary life in Madrid.
Around Plaza de Santa Ana, Calle Huertas and Calle del Prado, the visit puts names such as Cervantes, Lope de Vega and Quevedo into context. It is a neighbourhood walk; admission to a writers’ house, church or other interior is only considered if separately agreed and available.
